I decided to start this blog because I'm so tired of the illogical troll comments on YouTube. FaceBook has way too much stuff I don't need and there is this expectation to participate. As in, if you don't accept this request, then you must not like me. Or why didn't you poke/hug me back. It gets ridiculous. If I want to state my valid opinion on something in my status then I'm just spamming friends who are on FaceBook to see what other people are doing, not thinking.
Twitter is a little better, but the limits on characters is not. Often times I spend more time trying to rewrite what I wanted to say to make it fit. By the end the meaning is completely lost. Twitter is great for the popular who don't have much time, but still want to connect with their fans. I am not popular.
I started using YouTube and posted a video because there are a lot of interesting subjects and discussions on there. However, if you want to post a quality video then you have to spend all day doing it. Makeup so you don't look like crap, set up the lighting, make sure the background is okay, then the editing, etc. Wow, I do not want to spend that much time on a video only a couple of hundred people (maybe) will see. Maye after I build up subscribers I will post more regularly, but at the moment it just brings frustration.
Maybe there is a site out there for serious people and I just don't know about it. But I find that usually they have to have a niche in order to be popular. I want a site that can have serious discussions on anything from how the universe was created to why a viral video has so many views.
Okay so I doubt anyone is going to read this, but I feel better for writing it. I've been told many times on YouTube that others don't care about my opinion and should just shut up. Well, I don't want to do that. I think my opinions should be heard, and I think many of them are worthwhile. I just need a different platform in order to express it.
So that's why I decided to start this blog. I love writing AND discussions, so I figure this might be the place to do it.
